After months of hard work, it was time for our #AVANGRIDinterns to shine.

The 3rd Annual AVANGRID Intern Fair, held August 6 at five offices across AVANGRID, allowed employees to meet the interns and learn about their critical projects. Each intern prepared a display highlighting their work, put on the best business attire and enthusiastically welcomed all questions and comments.

“It’s wonderful to meet new people and talk about the work I’ve been doing,” said Human Resource intern Tumani Edwards, who spruced up his display with a raffle of AVANGRID swag and a wind turbine model.

NYSEG

AVANGRID’s 40 interns worked across nine companies: Renewables, AMC, ASC, NYSEG, RG&E, CMP, MNG, UI and UIL. Their workdays are full of tasks like environmental analysis, engineering and cybersecurity. They represent 25 education institutions where 27 of them are pursuing bachelor’s degrees, 11 are pursuing master’s degrees and three are on the road to becoming lawyers.

RG&E

At AVANGRID Headquarters in Orange, Conn., Carla Gregory, the new Vice President of Talent and Organization Effectiveness, welcomed employees and interns to the fair in the Agora space.

“It’s my 12th day with the company, so I feel a bit like an intern myself. I’d like to welcome you all to the Intern Fair, and thank you for coming. The Internship program one important way we attract talented people to join us at AVANGRID - as you meet the interns today you could be meeting the future leaders of AVANGRID,” Gregory said. “They’ve worked incredibly hard on some very important projects over the past 12 weeks, and I encourage you to stop by each booth to listen to their stories. Thanks to the interns for their hard work and dedication this summer, and please enjoy the event.”
