AVANGRID Celebrates National Lineworker Appreciation Day
The lineworkers across Avangrid Networks are the cornerstone of our operations in New York, Connecticut and Maine. Whether it is a thunderstorm in the middle of the summer, or an ice storm in the winter, lineworkers are the first responders who ensure our communities, businesses, and homes have the power they depend upon. As the needs of the electric system continue to grow, it is important to send the message to lineworkers that the people of our nation respect and appreciate their hard work and dedication to the craft!

The Festival, which takes place each June over two weeks in New Haven, Connecticut has a mission to create an internationally-renowned regional arts festival of the highest quality, with “world-class artists, thinkers and leaders, attracting and engaging a diverse audience, celebrating and building community, and advancing economic development.” The Avangrid Foundation is proud to be among the family of founding and current supporters of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, now spanning more than two decades. What started with support from then-independent subsidiary United Illuminating and Southern Connecticut Gas has been sustained by the Avangrid Foundation since 2016, in a new capacity.
American Red Cross Helping to Save Lives One Conversation at a Time
As a member of the American Red Cross Disaster Responder Program, Avangrid Foundation’s donation before disasters strike ensures we can be on the scene of an emergency at a moment’s notice, when it’s needed most. It also means that the Red Cross has the strong infrastructure and critical resources to respond quickly and compassionately to emergencies of all sizes when they happen. We simply couldn’t fulfill our mission without this support. With Avangrid’s help, the Red Cross is also able to support families following thousands of smaller disasters, like home fires. These emergencies don’t often make news headlines, but are just as devastating and life-changing for those involved.
